Ohio Theater manager found guilty on four obscenity charges
A Lorain Municipal Court jury of five men and seven women found Chester Scullark, of Cleveland, guilty on four counts of showing obscene films at the Ohio Theater. He received two $2,500 fines and two consecutive one-year jail terms on each of the obscenity charges, with $1,500 of each fine suspended and jail sentences withheld on conditions not to commit similar offenses in three years. Scullark also faces two possession charges with identical fines and sentences, and an appeal bond of $5,000 was set. The judge denounced the films as unadulterated filth and urged Scullark to leave town.
