Bears roam near Xenia after fence cut sparks escape
Neighbors report three 250 pound black bears escaped from a 9 acre enclosure when a cage fence was cut near Xenia Ohio. A sheriff deputy fired at one bear as the animals returned to their enclosure late Sunday. Owner David Walker defends the animals as not dangerous. Wildlife biologist Lynn Rogers cautions against approaching bears. Local resident Janet Grooms calls them an awful danger while Frances Brown agrees.
