Vermilion Man Killed in Crash After Stop Sign Violation

Warren L. Brown of Vermilion, 34, father of five, died from a head injury after his northbound car collided with a convertible driven by Carol Gries of Bradner at a stop sign on Route 194. Brown’s wife Rita May, 25, was hospitalized with scalp lacerations. The Browns were en route to Williams to visit relatives when the crash occurred. Carol Gries and her sister Belly, 16, were injured. Belly uninjured due to a padded dashboard. The Browns had been celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary. Funeral arrangements were pending with Emmerich Funeral Home Amherst.

Arthur Miller Indicted for Contempt of Congress

Playwright Arthur Miller, husband of Marilyn Monroe, was indicted on two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to name alleged Communist associates to the House Un-American Activities Committee. Youth Killed In Auto Crash Near Cleveland

A 20 year old South Euclid youth died and a 23 year old female companion was injured when their car failed to negotiate a curve on Bishop Road in Willoughby Hills near Cleveland. Gerald Lawrence of 4485 Goalsway Road was found dead in the wreckage. Lois Conrac of 23408 Ridge Road in Wickliffe was in fairly good condition at Building Gleneile hospital.

Fugitive Pleads Guilty in Fire Slaying Case

ZANESVILLE, Feb. 9. McCoy pleaded guilty to first degree murder for the fire slaying of his half sister and to an associated theft. He was held without bond by Muskimenm County grand jury. a special jury session is expected early next week. He whispered guilty when arraigned.

Fire Devastates Warrenton Old Folks Home Killing Dozens
