Avon Lake faces a projected 1.6 million deficit and weighs ending the Allied Waste subsidy that lowers resident trash fees from 11.67 to 6.47 dollars per month. Elyria law director cites charter breach in Grace copier contracts
Elyria Law Director Scott Serazin says former Mayor Bill Grace violated the city charter by signing 15 Nov 30 contracts with MT Business Technologies. He asserts the five year lease for 12 plus copiers and service exceeds the $25 000 per bid threshold and over $200 000 annual spending, warranting voiding and re bidding. The contracts reportedly raised costs from prior years. See CONTRACTS, A2.
