Holmes Sees Cooney Title Fight Delayed By Shoulder Injury
World boxing council heavyweight champion Larry Holmes warns the March 15 title clash with Gerry Cooney may be postponed after Cooney suffers a left shoulder tear. Cooney’s manager Dennis Rappaport says tests will decide if the bout proceeds. Holmes has paused training and may fight another top contender if postponed. Cooney’s doctors will review exam results before a final decision.
