The 647 foot steamer Arthur M. Anderson launches at Lorain while work continues in Baltimore on an ocean going ship to become the largest ore carrier on the Great Lakes. The C-4 Marine Robin is being rebuilt into a 710 foot Hanna fleet bulk carrier with sections constructed at Pascagoula and Baltimore. Hanna aims to have the vessel operating on the Great Lakes before the 1942 season ends.
