A Lorain County board rejected the third petition to block the Nagy Orchard rezoning near Lake Avenue. With 181 signatures but no required map, the effort to block about 50 acres for 120 single family homes failed. Developer Lake Murray LLC owns the land since May.

Villas in the Valley housing plan moves to Elyria Council
The Elyria Community Development Committee voted 3-1 to send the Villas in the Valley conditional use permit to City Council for final approval. The 220 unit development on 35 acres near the Valley of the Eagles Golf Course would include 140 detached homes and 80 condos, with Maple Waffle Lands LLC and K Hovnanian Homes as owners and builder respectively.
