Elyria Considers Moon Building for City Maintenance Hub

Councilman Gary Gibbs backs a building rating of 85 to 90 for the Moon site as a potential central maintenance facility. Remarking on costs, remodeling could be about half of building a new 51,000 square foot garage at roughly 100 dollars per square foot. Mayor Bill Grace labels the current garage woefully inadequate and notes space limits for city vehicles. The Moon building would provide space for 21 large trucks and 16 utility vehicles, with funding to be arranged, possibly using sanitation funds.
