ACT Staff Report six area districts North Ridgeville Westlake South Amherst Clearview Amherst and Sheffield Lake received notices from Columbia Gas of Ohio that their winter gas allotments are exhausted. Unlike Bay Village, these districts have alternate plans to keep some schools open and educate all children. Bay Village schools closed for at least two weeks with possible April 1 reopening. If more gas is needed Columbia will send a second notice to cut off gas until April 1. Sheffield Sheffield Lake schools expect a mailgram this week affecting Sheffield Middle and Brookside High under 8 percent curtailment. Avon may host Sheffield Lake students for split sessions at Avon High School. other option is closing all schools.
