A fragmentary Washington column discusses Army leadership politics and the influence of generals wives on promotions and policy. It cites Pershing, MacArthur, Eisenhower era names, and notes social ties to senators and officials shaping military decisions. The text is a garbled snapshot of interwar era debates.

He notes large firms absorb more work, delaying impact on small plants, urges orders growth and cautious staffing to avoid future layoffs. He observes improving optimism in business and war outlook.
Negotiations expected to close this week for use of the Knight of Columbus building on East Myead Street by Jack Flynn of Grafton. The Pinly Building Co owns the building, with stock held by Knights of Columbus members.
