A village defendant in two personal damage suits, filed by John W. Lengle and companion Charles Onts after a Lake Road motorcycle crash on September 3. Lengle seeks 15000 dollars and Onts 5000 dollars for injuries including a fractured leg and abdominal wound.
London reports a French bid for British cooperation in Rhineland moves. Le Trocquet gave no state note as talks on end use of railways in the occupied Rhine area stretched two and a half hours with another session planned. Berlin notes massed German forces near Essen amid unrest and potential uprising as French police and military preparations rise.
Word arrived of the death of Father John Clancy, formerly of the Grafton church and later at Norwalk, now Barberton. He was transferred to Barberton from Norwalk and was well known in the city and county. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning.
Paris February 15 M Sadie Le Cointe the famed French aviator today set a new airplane speed record by flying 356 kilometers an hour in a 300 horsepower Nieuport machine This surpasses the world record previously held by American aviator Mitchell at 385 kilometers per hour The reduced English miles figure is 366 kilometers about 226 miles.
County Agent Howard Rogers travels to Columbia to conduct a feeding stock and poultry school for farmers. A similar session will be held in LaGrange tomorrow. Radio listeners will hear the Salvation Army Territorial Staff Band broadcast from WOR Newark New Jersey tomorrow evening, with thousands expected to listen.
Lloyd Bliss of Lorain escaped Findlay county jail last night by digging through a wall using jail cat legs as improvised tools. He and John Lewalski from this city had been jailed for burglary after breaking into a Huron Street gas station and awaited trial. Four other inmates attempted to escape but stayed.
A state constitutional amendment proposal would allow cities and counties to have unified government when county population reaches 10060. Senator Collister of Cleveland introduced it. The House was asked to concur with the Senate on several measures including shifting narcotic law enforcement to the state pharmacy board rather than the dairy and food division. Speeds election returns A bill to remove noncooperating election officials from duty will be drafted, to require immediate postclose sessions and constant reporting of unofficial votes to the secretary of state, following a conference with Brown and editors. The measure aims to speed up returns amid widespread delays.
London February 15 Great Britain will continue to seek more advantageous terms for paying the British war debt to the United States, Chancellor of the Exchequer Stanley Baldwin announced in the House of Commons this afternoon. He said that everything now depends on British arrangements for redemption.

Paris report says Col William A Littauer has reconciled with his 18 year old daughter Catherine and the planned marriage to William E Doeller will proceed with the bride’s father's blessing. Doeller, 30, formerly a lieutenant in the American army in France, now sells automobiles. The dispute began when Littauer filed suit in Paris on January 29 to block the match.
The trial of George Howlett and George Dunfee on larceny charges for stealing lumber from the New York Central railroad began in Judge Thompson's court. The first state witness Albert Thiel was missing, leading to a contempt attachment and sheriff pursuit in Cleveland. Separately, the Delaware and Hudson Railroad used more than twenty locomotives in dangerous condition daily, as charged to the public service commission in Albany.

Fire at Armour and Company packing plant in Omaha Nebraska burned for a second day. Officials say losses now exceed 2,006,600 with flames spreading to two more plant units. Dozens of workers were left jobless as one packing house and three other units were destroyed.
