Trump budget targets regional water cleanup programs
Trump seeks deep cuts to Great Lakes restoration and Chesapeake Bay programs in the 2019 EPA budget. The plan would cut Great Lakes funding to 30 million and Chesapeake Bay to 7.3 million, while ending federal support for Gulf of Mexico and other estuary cleanups. Lawmakers and advocates vow to fight to preserve the initiatives.
