Sermons Begin New Baptist Year in Columbia
Rev Marshall Bickford, pastor of the Baptist Church, started a series on “The five most remarkable chapters of the Bible.” The first sermon covered Genesis chapter 1, with Exodus chapter 20 to follow. The choir, under Rolland Cartwright, is performing well as plans for a junior choir for Sunday School are announced. The Baptist Young People's Union convenes next Sunday with a nominating committee report. Numerous community visits and social events follow, including gatherings at homes of Hawke, Rothen, Ives, and others, and many church activities on the calendar.
