Woman Injured When Autos Collide
Jessie Ellis age 30 of 211 West Street was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital at 8 PM Saturday with scalp facial lacerations and chest and leg injuries after a car she rode in was struck by a second car driven by Robert Lawhead Amherst. Lawhead was arrested for driving while intoxicated and released on bond to be arraigned next Saturday. Police Chief Stankard reported. In a separate incident George Murray 43 of Cleveland sustained a fractured right leg after being struck by a car driven by Robert Mills 19 as he walked along Route 20 near Barton Road. Mills claimed he was traveling 28 miles an hour and swerved to avoid him.
