Scientists propose George II's madness myth debunked
A British medical team argues the so called Mad King George II suffered not madness but a liver related metabolic disorder, porphyria. They base their claim on unpublished journals and letters preserved in the British Museum and Windsor archives stating the king's illness was not mental illness. The Times of London editorial supports the view, noting historical mislabeling of George III as mad.
