New 314 Mile Highway Plan Near Elyria Proposed

Preliminary studies begin on a state project to build a limited access highway paralleling Abbe Rd. linking Rt. 20 with Elyria's Rt. 57 north bypass and the Rt. 10 and 57 interchange at LaPorte. County Engineer Patterson says the road would bypass Elyria traffic and include an underpass at the New York Central Railroad, extending Elyria's north belt plan toward LaPorte.

Ohio Fire Kills Eight In Alliance Family Tragedy

Eight died in a frame-house fire in Alliance as a father and seven children perished on the second floor. Fire officials said burns and smoke inhalation were fatal. the mother Barbara Lally escaped with Miles, five months, after trying to wake her husband and children. The victims were Robert Lilly, 40, and his children Gregory 11, Marshal 8, Clara 7, twins Robert and Roberta 5, Parlin 4, and Cynthia 3.

It envisions replacing 2500 government offices 12000 leased buildings and installing new mail handling gear. Persic Strikes Fire On Voyage To London

Neighbor recalls blaze near Stella Urban residence
