Township and city elementary schools added $131.46 and $386.78 respectively, with several leading elementary schools noted. Funds fund magazine subscriptions, Junior Red Cross work in Elyria Chapter, or gifts to the National Children's Fund. Oberlin Branch has designated $107.24 for that purpose.

Man Arrested For Disorderly Conduct In City
Ronald Conk aged 25 of 421 West avenue was arrested this morning on a disorderly conduct charge after a report of a man in a car at Huron street and Lake avenue behaving improperly. A Huron street woman who was going to work at 7 45 a m complained. Police said Conk admitted responsibility for recent reports from Roosevelt school about a man seen in the district.

Lincoln's Birthplace Observance Cancelled For WWII War
In Hodgenville Kentucky the city of about 1500 residents carried on with normal business with no public observance for Abraham Lincoln born February 12 1809 near the town. Mayor J R Howell said wartime conditions halted services likely not resumed until 1947. The Lincoln birthplace log cabin sits on the Jackson highway two and a half miles from Hodgenville and the site is a nationally owned shrine with a memorial built in 1909 at about 250000.

Mail Carrier Helps Extinguish Blaze on Fifteenth Street
