Detroit February 12 General Motors executives acted to resume capacity output quickly after a 40 day strike. They expect some plants to reopen Monday and by March to produce 225 000 cars monthly at 69 plants nationwide. GM ordered 25 million dollars worth of materials and aims to restart all plants within 12 days. United Automobile Workers signaled upcoming bargaining, led by Knudsen who said most important is to get workers back and plants running.

Quarrel Ends In Fatal Shooting
A domestic quarrel last night ended in the fatal shooting of John Guettinger aged 50 of Vine Yard Road Avon Lake allegedly by his wife Lenora 35 who was detained in county jail awaiting investigation. The wife told Marshal William Arnold she grabbed a revolver in a child’s room after her husband forced his way into the kitchen and bathroom. The 32 caliber Smith & Wesson discharged through a bedroom door striking Guettinger in the chest killing him. he was an electrician for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co. The couple had a seven year marriage and a 2 1/2 year old child Leron.

Valencia Spain February 12 The Alborayo suburb of the Loyalist capital faced a sea bombardment for 25 minutes in the early hours. Coastal batteries answered. No casualties reported yet.
