Car Crash Sparsely Injures Elyria School Family

A car collided with an Elyria City School bus on Gulf Road injuring about a half dozen children and the bus driver. The car driver, John Caja, 39, is in serious condition with chest injuries and faces failure to control charges. the bus driver Helen Baker, 44, was treated for a knee injury.

Milwaukee AP reports eight states and two Canadian provinces will sign a Great Lakes Charter to require consultation before major diversions. By 2000 regional demand is expected to double, with 6 quadrillion gallons of water representing 20 percent of world fresh supply. The plan seeks data sharing and a regional water use plan to resist or regulate diversions.

Heatless tenement deaths on Super Bowl Sunday in New York

On January 20 in New York's Lower East Side tenement 63 Avenue D two residents Frances Fulton 37 and James Kelly 62 died from extreme cold as heat complaints were ignored for 13 of 15 days. Heat was restored within 24 hours by a city crew after bodies were removed. Frances Fulton born 1947 in Harlem had lived a hard life and last worked at the World Trade Center.
