Eight skiers suspended for hemoglobin violation at Olympics
Eight cross country skiers from several nations including two Americans Kikkan Randall and Leif Zimmermann were banned for five days after excessive hemoglobin levels were found. The move, described by the federation as health protection rather than punishment, followed testing of 224 athletes over two days as part of about 1,200 planned drug tests at Turin.
