Youth found dead in park with gunshot wound
The 14 year old Elyria boy John Macsay was found in Elywood Park near the Black River showing a head gunshot wound. Coroner preliminary rules out foul play pending final ruling. mother recalls he left school Monday with a friend and was last seen along the river.

Ridgeville teachers hold study day as schools close
North Ridgeville public schools were closed as teachers organized a professional study day to address problems in the instructional program. Roger Smith, spokesman for the teachers and president of the North Ridgeville Education Association, said concerns were discussed with citizens and Ohio Education Association representatives. Classes are scheduled to resume tomorrow after the private meeting where the teachers urged the resignation of school board President Dale Pepin.
