Story behind Sojourner Truth 1851 Akron speech revealed

Sojourner Truth gave a famous 1851 Akron address at the Ohio Women's Rights Convention. The Sojourner Truth Project argues the widely cited version by Frances Dana Barker Gage misrepresents Truth, with earliest authentic transcription by Marius Robinson in 1851. The piece notes Truth’s short 22 sentence speech and legacy, including a 22-cent stamp honor and the nearby Sojourner Truth Legacy Plaza dedication in Akron.
