Ground access hindered by snow as crews from Cal Fire and civilian agencies searched the area around Pine Valley and the Cuyamaca Mountains east of Interstate 8.
Five Marines from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 were deployed as Cal Fire and federal agencies coordinate in San Diego County amid heavy snowfall in the Cuyamaca Peak and Cleveland National Forest area. Biden briefed as crews plan for search and rescue and military assistance in rugged terrain. The CH 53E Super Stallion is capable of moving troops in harsh weather when needed.
