10 Year Old Leaves Home After Two Months Loveless Tragedy
Dayton police report a boy confessed to killing Jenkins after claiming he found him at a restaurant and warned Mrs Jenkins. Prosecutor Smyth said Mrs Jenkins helped wrap the body, move it from the house to Slater’s car, then they drove 75 miles south disposing clothing near Troy and another body part near Miamisburg. Slater and the boy’s mother were later taken into custody after Mrs Jenkins identified a bed in Dayton. Slater, a junior athlete, and the boy’s father and kin live near Huntsville and Covington.
