Elyria school plan hinges on state aid for Washington Building salvage
Elyria voters face a May levy to fund a 63 million district project. The plan preserves the Washington Building as classroom space with 40 percent state aid and adds an 800 seat auditorium costing 4.5 million. Residents would cover about 45 million of the total, while the state would provide 23.4 million. A 4.5 million auditorium is favored for curricular ties and community values.
