Burglars invaded the Rand Theatre office on the main floor and forced open the safe with a chisel and hammer. They escaped with about 505 dollars and change plus receipts, leaving no clues. this is the second burglary at the venue this period.
A heated Senate debate on oil leases erupted as Senator Walsh and others clashed over Doheny and the 1920 Republican convention. Willis challenged claims, while Ashurst pressed for documents and Reed noted subpoenas and political maneuvering surrounding the administration and Harding era.

Washington February 7 E L Doheny testified before the senate public lands committee that he overestimated payments to former Treasury Secretary William G McAdoo for services in oil filings. He now says McAdoo received 150000, not 250000 as previously stated.
After ten days of effort the Army recruiting station here failed to land anyone and the office was transferred to Lorain, today.
The New York Chicago and St. Louis Railroad seeks IRS approval to issue 2.865 million dollars in 6 percent equipment trust certificates to pay for 1800 freight cars and twenty locomotives. The Philadelphia Baltimore and Washington Railway asks for 16 million dollars in five percent mortgage bonds for sale to the Pennsylvania Railroad. An auto collision at Lodi and Chestnut streets damages cars owned by C G Hall and Will Morse.

Three gunmen robbed the Deutsch and Lovey department store in South Lorain about 7 20 pm taking 1209 in cash and 350 in Liberty bonds. Proprietor Samuel Lovey and Mary Zatrock faced the attackers as a companion fainted. They fled in a car, marking the citys largest such robbery and sparking fears of a crime wave after police force cuts.
Mrs Helen Namy died last night at Memorial hospital at age 74. Survived by three children George Namy Joe Namy and Sophie. Funeral Friday at 3 PM at 174 Woodford Avenue home of George Namy with a Lorain priest officiating and burial at Ridgeland Cemetery.
James Petrini a real estate agent from Columbus Ohio was turned over by Magistrate Smith to Captain Clark J McNeil of Columbus for extradition. The case cites a grand larceny amount of $22,000 though the arraignment affidavit charges a specific theft of $500 on January 28.

Earlier a Chevrolet was stolen from Mikowic at 230 Roosevelt avenue, and towns have been asked to watch for it.
