Two long serving councilors in North Ridgeville to retire
In North Ridgeville Ward three council member Ronald Arndt and Ward four member Robert Olesen will not seek re election next year. Arndt appointed in 2013 to fill the Jaenke seat and later serving as council president said retirement will give time to family and consulting work. Olesen, turning 80 this year, cited diminished energy and the desire for new leadership as the reasons for stepping down.

Jury Acquits Woman of Perjury and False Statement Charges
An Elyria Lorain County jury acquitted Krissie Gonzalez of perjury and falsification stemming from her statements about a June 10 2010 dental shooting. After more than two hours of deliberation, the 37 year old said she looked forward to rebuilding her life. Her defense cited job loss and mounting child support as consequences of the case.

Avon Lake weighs power to subpoena for council and boards
Avon Lake City Council will hear a first reading of an ordinance granting subpoena power to the council and all boards and commissions.
