Tragic blast ends custody case with Powell family loss
In Graham Washington a judge had ruled against Josh Powell in a custody case two days earlier. Powell and his two young sons Braden and Charles were killed when he allegedly blew up the house trapping all inside. The case follows Susan Powell's 2009 disappearance in Utah. A social worker reported a gas smell before the explosion. Steven Powell, father of Josh Powell, was in custody on unrelated charges.

Senate cyber security bill faces broad opposition from business and experts
A developing Senate plan to boost regulation of computer security for critical infrastructure faces opposition from firms who say it overreaches and from security experts who want stricter measures. The bill would let Homeland Security, with input from business, pick regulated companies and require better security, with uncertain specifics left to lawmakers. Critics question the chosen industries and whether DHS is the right enforcer while noting private ownership of most infrastructure.
