Mrs Bauer Released On Bond In Fatal Shooting Case

Emma Bauer 45 of Vermilion was indicted for voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of her husband. She posted 5 percent of a $50,000 cash bond, after holding a $100,000 cash bond on original aggravated murder charges. Judge Floyd D. Harris reduced the bond following a grand jury indictment.

Army claims 56 guerrillas killed in rebel stronghold

The army said it killed 56 guerrillas in a rebel stronghold north of San Salvador and removed 427 civilian supporters in a four week operation. Government losses were three killed and 64 wounded.
