Three men charged in Lorain County bank theft

FBI filed charges against Charles Grisham Donald Coates and Joseph Diorio in connection with a $93 000 theft from the Midway Mall branch of Lorain County Savings and Trust Co on August 16. Grisham held on 50000 bond in Cleveland. Coates to be arraigned. Diorio to be arrested on release. All faces up to 5000 fine and 10 years in prison.

State of emergency declared at University of California

Gov. Ronald Reagan declared an extreme state of emergency at the University of California Berkeley to allow maximum patrols to maintain order amid student strikes supported by minority groups. He activated the state highway patrol under Alameda County Sheriff Frank Madigan after campus vandalism and intimidation cited by UC President Charles Hitch.

Navy inquiry eyes higher ranks in Pueblo case

Specialist Watford earned a commendation for exceptionally valorous actions as chief on a CH 47A helicopter near a Special Forces outpost by the Cambodian border. Noll to be Ridgeville's full time service chief

Nixon to Begin Europe Tour February 23

President Nixon announced a five nation Western Europe tour starting February 23. He will visit Brussels London Berlin Bonn Rome and Paris with talks at Paris peace talks and a meeting with Pope Paul VI. He seeks to strengthen NATO ties and discuss new peace initiatives with Lodge and the U.S. negotiating team. He plans face to face meetings with five national leaders and hopes for a future summit with the Soviet Union.

Elyria Judge Seeks More Court Funds After City Grant

Elyria Municipal Judge Frank M. Wilcox warned a court action may follow if the city does not fund his expanded needs.
