Avon Lake School Bus Destroyed by Fire
A school bus, its garage, and a chicken house were destroyed by fire at 7 30 am when driver Maynard Krebs attempted to start the vehicle in his Jaycox road garage. Krebs suffered burns to hands and face while trying to extinguish the blaze which started in the motor area. The bus, two years old and owned by the school board, was kept in the garage. Children were transported to school on the district's other two buses.
