Put psychiatry back in medicine says pain specialist
Baltimore psychiatrist Dr. Nelson Hendler argues chronic pain often originates or ends in the head and is underrecognized by many doctors. He urges integrating psychiatry into medical care, notes 60 headache types, stresses thorough history taking, and highlights stress as a major factor in chronic pain.
