Fire destroys Lorain plant causing $300000 damage

A two alarm fire at the Service Overall Supply Co. building on East 35th Street and Elyria Avenue in Lorain destroyed the structure. The blaze, starting after 7:30 p.m. after an explosion, gutted the plant and destroyed uniforms and eight delivery vehicles while injuring one firefighter.

Union Charges Lockout Olsen Plant Strike May End Tomorrow

The C A Olsen Manufacturing Co strike, ongoing two weeks, could end tomorrow if a union company conference yields a resumption of operations. IFW members voted to return to work unconditionally this morning, while management seeks a signed memorandum canceling all issues. Ohio Woman Dies In Fire At Williamsburg Grocery

An elderly invalid woman died in a Williamsburg grocery fire that destroyed the store. Her son-in-law and the owner Frank Ott tried to re enter the blaze to rescue her as two dogs and three children escaped to safety. Utica man dies from weekend car crash injuries

Frank Beaver, 23, of Utica, died at Mercy Hospital in Mt. Vernon from injuries after a Saturday crash on a Licking County road between Utica and Newark. His car reportedly left the highway and struck a utility pole.

Fire Rips Through Service Overall Supply Co Building

A two alarm fire and explosions from flammable cleaning chemicals destroyed the Service Overall Supply Co. at East 35th Street and Elyria Avenue. Loss estimates range from 300000 to over 500000 dollars. The blaze started late last night and fire crews fought until 8 pm. One firefighter, George Billings, was injured. The building, dating from 1946, housed about 60 employees and many items were destroyed.
