Former Principal Ends His Life in Oberlin Home
William A. Wickling 42 a former Birmingham school principal and Lexington teacher shot himself with a 16 gauge shotgun at his Oberlin home on South Miln Street. His wife Nocta 37 found him at the foot of the stairs when she returned at 10:30 am. Four children were at school. Wickling had moved from Lexington to Oberlin September 1 and recently sold books for a school book firm. He had been ill with depression and was to start a new job at Oberlin College in March. His body was taken to Sedar man Funeral home pending arrangements.
