Charges Against Butler May Not Be Revealed

Ohio Weather Forecast Sees Warmer Central South

Increasing cloudiness and warmer conditions expected in central and south portions tonight. Friday brings further clouds with possible light rain and warmer temperatures in the extreme south. United States Steel and Carnegie Pension Fund reports 105 Lorain Works pensioners, 28 pensions granted in 1940, 10 deaths in 1940, average pension higher than corporate average. Tax Committee Appointments And Auto Tax Measures

Six general assembly members were set to form a tax committee to draft a statewide taxation program. The governor declined to appoint members to the panel. Quake Region Death Toll Near Two Hundred Recovered

In Hawkes Bay New Zealand officials report almost 200 bodies recovered from the quake wreckage. Fifty had already been buried and the remaining victims were placed in a common grave with a combined service for unidentified dead.

Two Judges Absent From Common Pleas Court

Common pleas court sessions were slowed as two of the three judges were absent. Judge W B Thompson stayed home with a cold while Judge A R Webber left for a Rotary engagement in Cleveland. Fire drives four families from Cleveland Street apartment

A blaze at 143 Cleveland Street forced four families and the owner’s household to flee. Fire Chief W N Batea estimated damage at 800 to 1000 dollars, origin in a second floor pantry, and firemen fought 62 minutes. Coroner Probes Death of Rev Brinley Abbott in Cleveland

Coroner Arthur J. Pearse opened an inquiry into the death of Rev. Brinley Abbott 45 former rector of St John s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Ohio. Abbott was found dead last night in the Grace Episcopal Church South recreation house with a two ounce bottle believed to contain poison nearby. Police said he wore his overcoat and lay face down at a stair foot. Officials described death as self inflicted while noting distress over a reported death of a brother and illness of one of his three children in England.

Woman Hurt In Crash Near Brighton

Mrs Florence Nichols of Akron was treated yesterday afternoon for injuries after a car she rode in swerved crossed the road and overturned about one mile west of Brighton. Dr Ralph Favs of Wellington attended her. Her husband and friends were present. The article notes a fire in Falla last Monday that displaced a family.
