Shipbuilding on the Black River program to recount Great Lakes era
Avon historians present a talk by Matt Weisman at Avon's Old Town Hall detailing Black River shipbuilding from the 1800s to the 1971 Roger Blough blaze. He notes 530 ships built, highlights a 1943 pair of minesweepers, and cites the Blough as the first GL supertanker.
