In a Dolomite ski resort in northern Italy a cable car was severed Tuesday causing the gondola to plunge 240 to 300 feet. At least 20 people died and many were injured. Victims included nine or more nationalities. officials said 11 men and nine women among the dead. Italian and U.S. officials, including Premier Prodi and Ambassador Foglietta, arrived at the scene.
