Police union backs Lorain mayor candidate Ritenauer
The Lorain mayoral race gets a boost as the Police Officers' union endorses Chase Ritenauer. They praise his negotiation of a three year contract with two percent raises and higher health premiums, plus new cruisers for the department. Ritenauer says the endorsement supports public safety and notes it may not sway voters. In a separate case, Larry Baker Jr faces aggravated burglary charges after demanding jewelry from Matthew Smith and pointing a pistol during a home invasion at 2210 Homewood Drive. Smith admitted theft of the jewelry and Baker was not located after the incident.

Probation and restitution in Tyrone Price case and related allegations
Case details show Tyrone Price received a year on probation with no violations, while prosecutors opposed his entry into a judicial program, and he may reapply. He has paid 23,556 in restitution for theft from a youth football league. In a separate case, Price pleaded guilty to blackmailing a Columbia Schools teacher over topless photos of her son, was placed on probation, and ordered to pay 292 in restitution. The teacher, Michelle Kazmierczak, lost her job and pleaded no contest to persistent disorderly conduct.
