Special needs home becomes model for autism care
Larry and Beth Markin convert a Skokie bungalow into a state of the art residence for their autistic son Eric. Built with Braddock and Anixter Center partners, the 350000 dollar home features reinforced walls and safety designs to reduce self harm and allow independence. The project aims to serve as a community asset after Eric’s time there. Eric moved in after months of adjustment, with initial struggles giving way to stability.
