United Church of Christ tops in women clergy nationwide
A National Council of Churches study shows the United Church of Christ with 400 women ministers, the most among U.S. denominations. The report covers 211 Christian bodies, notes two thirds of women ministers are in Pentecostal or Salvation Army type groups, and urges better access to church roles amid bleak job prospects.
