Project Lemonade fights Klan rally with charity pledge
Springfield couple Bill and Lindy Seltzer organized Project Lemonade a pledge drive turning each minute of a Klan rally into a donation to civil rights groups. The idea spread to several towns earning praise from activists and a Chicago ADL award, despite some hate mail and threats. The campaign grew from lessons about Skokie's free speech battles and the right to counter hate with constructive action.
