Act To Assure Security For Teachers

Columbus Ohio December 30 delegates at the 15th annual Ohio Education Association meeting approved an indefinite teachers tenure bill to be introduced to the state legislature. The measure calls for continuous employment after a three year probationary period a state tenure board of three members to hear appeals from dismissed teachers and allows appeal to a common pleas court from tenure board rulings. Elyria Kiwanis Club plans a noon Thursday meeting at Hotel Billinghurst where Russell Weisman, economist and Cleveland Plain Dealer writer, will speak on The Outlook for 1957. Two Injured In Auto Accidents Here Yesterday

Two persons were injured in auto collisions reported to police here yesterday. Miss Jean Roth 17 of 320 West street was admitted to Elyria Memorial Hospital for observation with injuries on her right side and forehead from a collision on West Bridge street about 5 50 p m. The other injured, Miss D Good 46 of 120 Second street, received facial lacerations in a crash at Foster and Lake avenues about 10 40 p m riding with Everett Johnson of 120 Second street. Harley Grills of Graf ton drove the other car. Police said Grills car was damaged earlier when a Chrysler coupe being pushed by Frank Kohn of Lorain was struck. two men in the Chrysler ran off.

New Old Age Pension Board Named by County Vote

County commissioners, by a two to one vote, abolished the old age pension board effective December 31, relieving the board from approving pension applications and bills. A new board will be appointed by H. J. Berrodin, chief of the division in Columbus. Davidson and Wickens supported the move. Dunn opposed, citing potential delays and friction with the pension office.

Maintenance Of Road In Dispute In La Grange Carlisle Townships

County commissioners revisit 1934 records to settle who maintains Parsons road between La Grange and Carlisle townships. Carlisle trustee Frank Rabi argues federal funds made it a county obligation.
