Abe Cooper a 42 year old gambler and former school board investigator was slain in a Franklin Park gangster ride near Chicago. State patrolmen saw the suspects’ sedan shortly after the body was found with alleged blood stains on the running board. Cooper appeared to have been killed as he prepared to light a cigar, holding an unlit cigar and a box of matches.

Flosa Morrow, 29, manager of Blattner Clothing in Piqua, was fatally shot by William Ramelmeier, 26, who aimed at his wife a saleswoman in the store. Ramelmeier then killed himself on the river bank. Morrow died soon after. Ramelmeier’s jealousy was cited by Mrs. Ramelmeier as motive.
