Hospital refuses baby and child dies in Texas case
In Dimmitt, migrant parents Isidro and Rachel Aguinaga begged Plains Memorial Hospital for emergency care for their 11 month old son. Administrator Jack Newsom allegedly demanded a $400 deposit before admission. The child died hours later after the family sought another facility. Newsom was indicted by a Castro County grand jury for refusing emergency medical treatment.
