Elyria Scuba Divers dive through ice at Oberlin Reservoir
The Elyria Scuba Divers formed last August and now have five members. On December 16 in 25 degree weather three divers Eddie and Keith Roberts and Jim Craig cut a six inch ice hole at Oberlin Reservoir and plunged in wearing wet suits. Karen Roberts and Jon Craig assisted with ice cutting and lines. Members listed with local authorities include the Coast Guard and Elyria Police for rescue and recovery. The group aims to expand into salvage work with plans for a boat and equipment. Members' jobs span Pick-N-Pay, Ridge Tool, Baldwin-Wallace College, O'Neil's and Elyria High School.
