Rail traffic cut likely after year end
Washington News: The Interstate Commerce Commission chaired by Col. Monroe Johnson said passenger trains on coal burning railroads will be curtailed after the new year to conserve dwindling coal supplies. The ICC plans to decide on economy measures tomorrow and may order railroads with less than 25 days coal on hand to reduce passenger service by 25 percent. The miners and coal operators show split positions with the Northern Western group in accord with possible action. Page 2.
