Forecast Increase In Milk Price In Elyria Cleveland Area
A milk price rise likely to take effect January in Elyria and Cleveland follows an announcement of higher costs for producers. Dealers indicate a probable increase since Elyria must pay the same producer price as Cleveland to secure adequate supply. In Lorain County most milk is shipped to Cleveland, with a noted county shortage driving the expected higher retail rates. The Cleveland price will be one cent higher per quart for regular milk at 20 cents, store price 19 cents, and homogenized 21 cents.
