Bernard M. ODonnell, born March 18, 1918, raised seven children with morning breakfasts and school departures before work. He asserted equal parenting with his wife June and hired workers regardless of race, shaping Elyria’s O Donnell Paint and Wallpaper with brothers before later joining carpet firms and retiring in 1983.
