Elyria woman, ex-air traffic supervisor, dies from home fire
Gweneth L. Nolan, 61, retired supervisor of Federal Air Traffic controllers in Oberlin, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital from extensive burns after a fire at her Pinewood Street home. Firefighters forced entry. the blaze burned a chair area, extinguished quickly. Nolan served as a nurse, Army nurse in World War II, and was among United Airlines original stewardesses.
