Progress Toward Farm Adjustment in Ohio
The Ohio Legislature passed a farm warehouse law on December 21 enabling farmers to obtain 4 percent loans on corn stored on the farm. The Agricultural Adjustment Administration had earlier named 48 counties where corn is a key crop warranting these loans, which are 45 cents per bushel for corn meeting grade standards. If corn price fails to rise to 45 cents, the government will accept the loan payment in coin. County agents will handle applications, and a county supervisory board will be appointed by E. H. Hanefelt to oversee forms and processing.
